A few years ago, I started feeling more stressed and irritable than usual. I was also struggling to switch off and get a good night’s rest. My friend told me that the NHS was recommending meditation to people like me, as there is loads of scientific evidence to support its health benefits. Working as a teacher, I knew I had to do something to help myself before I reached burnout.
I had no idea where to start (and if I’m honest, I was quite sceptical) but did some research and signed up for a 5 week online course with The British School of Meditation (BSoM). Within a few months, I was definitely feeling less anxious, I could concentrate better at work and generally felt happier and more in control of my emotions.
I am so grateful to Sarah Presley at the British School of Meditation. Finally, I have found a way to slow down, let go and find little moments of peace, wherever I am, whatever I am doing. I am now a qualified teacher of meditation and offer sessions in schools and colleges, in corporate settings and privately in Ampthill. I am pleased to be able to offer concessions for teachers and NHS staff.
